    Clinical & Operational Support Person

    Are You Organised, Compassionate, and Passionate About Supporting Outstanding Care? Join Our Team as a Clinical & Operational Support Person!

    We are excited to offer a full-time, fixed-term contract of 6 months for a Clinical & Operational Support Person to join the team at Sonas Nursing Home Carrick-On-Suir. This role is central to supporting the Person in Charge (PIC) and management team in ensuring high-quality resident care and smooth day-to-day operations.

    You will play a key role in assisting with clinical governance, audits, compliance, staff coordination, and administrative functions, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and resident-centred environment where staff feel supported and residents feel valued.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the PIC with clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and audits.

    • Maintain and update resident documentation, care plans, and assessments in line with HIQA standards.

    • Support the preparation for HIQA inspections and implementation of compliance action plans.

    • Assist with staff rostering, timesheet management, and coordination of staffing needs.

    • Support onboarding, training, and development of new and existing staff.

    • Maintain operational records, logs, and databases (maintenance, health & safety, fire safety, training logs, etc.).

    • Help manage supplies, stock control, and liaise with procurement.

    • Provide non-clinical support to residents and families/next-of-kin, including complaint or compliment logging and follow-up.

    • Support staff with day-to-day queries and problem-solving, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential:

    • Experience in a healthcare or nursing home setting (clinical or administrative).

    • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    • Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

    • Strong IT skills (MS Office, care management software, rostering systems).

    Desirable:

    • Qualification in healthcare, nursing, social care, or health administration.

    • Experience supporting clinical governance or quality assurance activities.

    • Experience in rostering or staff coordination.

    • Understanding of safeguarding, infection control, and person-centred care principles.
