    Person in Charge (PIC) - Ethos Care 

    (Opening Early 2026 – Haven Wood Retirement Home & Village, Ballygunner, Waterford)

    Ethos Care is delighted to announce the opening of our newest state-of-the-art nursing home in Ballygunner, Waterford in early 2026. We are now recruiting a dedicated and experienced Person in Charge (PIC) to lead our care team and ensure the highest standards of resident care from the very beginning of our journey.

    About the Role: 

    As the Person in Charge, you will oversee the full operational, clinical, and regulatory management of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with HIQA, the Health Act 2007, and Ethos’ commitment to excellence in person-centred care. You will provide strong leadership, promote a positive team culture, and maintain a caring environment that supports the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Fulfil all statutory duties of the Person in Charge in line with HIQA regulations and national standards.

    • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to all staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

    • Supervise the organisation, administration, and daily operations of the nursing home.

    • Uphold a high standard of professional and person-centred care.

    • Ensure safeguarding practices are implemented, monitored, and adhered to.

    • Maintain excellent communication with residents, families, staff, and external partners.

    • Work flexibly including nights and weekends as required.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Third-level nursing degree and active NMBI registration with PIN.

    • Minimum 6 years post-registration nursing experience.

    • Minimum 3 years managerial experience and 3 years’ experience in eldercare within the last 6 years.

    • Post-registration qualification in healthcare management (or willingness to undertake).

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

    • Full clean Irish driver’s licence and access to personal transport.
