The Wellness & Physio Assistant plays a key role in supporting residents’ mobility, independence, and emotional well-being through physiotherapy-led programs and holistic activities. Reporting to the Physiotherapist (Senior) and Person in Charge, this hybrid role combines physical rehabilitation support with the coordination of tailored wellness and engagement activities.

What You’ll Do:
Assist with physiotherapy sessions including mobility classes, fall prevention programs, and walking groups.
Support assessments by providing feedback and observations to the Physiotherapist and nursing team.
Plan and deliver meaningful activities such as arts & crafts, music, gardening, and reminiscence therapy.
Document participation and progress, attend team meetings, and support inspections or audits.
Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment aligned with Sonas Values and policies.
What We’re Looking For:
FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
Modules in Physiotherapy Theory & Practice or Sports & Leisure (or willingness to complete).
Desirable: Care of the Older Person, Dementia Care, Palliative Care.
Valid CPR, Manual Handling, Infection Control & Safeguarding certificates (training can be provided).
Experience in a residential care setting is desirable.
Ability to motivate, engage, and support residents with varying needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Passionate about improving the quality of life for older people.
