We are excited to offer a full-time, fixed-term contract of 6 months for a Clinical & Operational Support Person to join the team at Sonas Nursing Home Carrick-On-Suir. This role is central to supporting the Person in Charge (PIC) and management team in ensuring high-quality resident care and smooth day-to-day operations.
You will play a key role in assisting with clinical governance, audits, compliance, staff coordination, and administrative functions, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and resident-centred environment where staff feel supported and residents feel valued.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the PIC with clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and audits.
Maintain and update resident documentation, care plans, and assessments in line with HIQA standards.
Support the preparation for HIQA inspections and implementation of compliance action plans.
Assist with staff rostering, timesheet management, and coordination of staffing needs.
Support onboarding, training, and development of new and existing staff.
Maintain operational records, logs, and databases (maintenance, health & safety, fire safety, training logs, etc.).
Help manage supplies, stock control, and liaise with procurement.
Provide non-clinical support to residents and families/next-of-kin, including complaint or compliment logging and follow-up.
Support staff with day-to-day queries and problem-solving, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Experience in a healthcare or nursing home setting (clinical or administrative).
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Strong IT skills (MS Office, care management software, rostering systems).
Desirable:
Qualification in healthcare, nursing, social care, or health administration.
Experience supporting clinical governance or quality assurance activities.
Experience in rostering or staff coordination.
Understanding of safeguarding, infection control, and person-centred care principles.
