Ethos Care is a leading multi-site residential care group, is seeking an experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join its senior leadership team. This is a key executive role with overall responsibility for driving operational performance, organisational effectiveness, and sustainable business growth across a national portfolio of services.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO will play a pivotal role in executing the organisation’s strategic vision, ensuring that operational structures, systems, and teams are aligned to deliver high-quality, consistent, and efficient services. The role requires a strong focus on performance management, governance, and continuous improvementwithin a regulated environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for translating strategy into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes, leading multi-site operations, and embedding a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvementacross the organisation.
As COO, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day performance across our nursing home network, ensuring each home is running effectively, safely, and in line with our values. You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to turn strategy into action—and results.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Qualifications
A Level 8 (Honours) degree in Business, Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field
A postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA or Master’s in Strategy, Leadership, or Operations) is a strong advantage
Professional certifications in project management, leadership, or operational excellence are a plus
Experience
10–15 years’ experience in operations, corporate management, or a related sector
5+ years in a senior leadership or executive role with full accountability for performance
Proven success managing and optimising multi-site operations, ideally across diverse locations
A track record of driving efficiency, quality, and sustainable growth
Experience working within regulated environments with strong governance and compliance oversight
Technical Expertise
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, and cost control
Skilled in operational planning, performance management, and KPI delivery
Experience leading transformation, scaling operations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Solid understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks

Proven leader who builds, develops, and inspires high-performing teams
Confident decision-maker who balances commercial, operational, and people priorities

Background in regulated, service-led sectors (e.g. healthcare, social care, hospitality)
